Voicelessness alternative - discord server?
« on: September 06, 2026, 10:54:06 PM »
Are you guys absolutely sure you don't want to try discord?

As an alternative chat place to this data heavy board that often doesn't want to open?

I use it on my laptop not as a phone app. Like web version I suppose.

It's free and I think all it needs is an email to sign up.

Amber, Hops, Lighter, & self there's really only four of us posting on here nowadays right?

AI --

can I set up 4 person small group discord where there doesn't have to be like a main moderator people can just go there and chat ?

Yes. Create a standard Discord server, invite your three friends, and leave default member permissions enabled so everyone shares equal access without designated moderators.

1
Create a new server
Discord app or web
Click the + (Add a Server) button on the left sidebar, select Create My Own, and choose For me and my friends. Name it and click Create.

2
Invite your group
Instant invite
Click the server name in the top left, select Invite People, and copy/send the link directly to your three friends.

3
Verify permissions
Optional setup check
By default, all members share the same baseline permissions (speaking, video, screen sharing, and messaging) unless you explicitly assign a restricted role. No special configuration is needed.

Verification: Have any member join a voice channel or send a message; if everyone can speak and type freely without restrictions, the open-group setup is successful.
