Interesting letter to President Obama

<< < (5/5)

Dr. Richard Grossman:
Hi everybody,

For more on why politics and religion are so difficult to discuss with those who have different viewpoints, here’s a terrific article by Steve Pinker:

"The Moral Instinct"

Richard

P.S.  I assume that most know this from a prior thread, but the author of the blog article (thanks, Mud, for giving the direct link) is my brother.

P.P.S.  If you think you have a hard time discussing these issues, consider this:  My sister is Catholic, my brother an Israeli Jew, my mother (deceased) and daughter atheists, my father an agnostic,  my three step-children I haven't recently polled (I'm afraid to)—and me, well y'all  know about me (besides, “Big Brother” is watching  ).  When we get together, someone says "Nice weather", and then we file to the dinner table and eat in silence...

teartracks:

Dr. G,

Y'all sound so normal  :P.
