Can you help me find a mantra?
fraidycat:
One more.. "I will NOT be discouraged" Don't let other peoples issues get in your way!
Lupita:
Thank you Light. Your ideas are wonderful.
Today I got on edge and yelled at school. But kids pushed my bottons, adolescents do, that is their job. To pusg bottons. So, I think I failed today. But will try again tomorrow. I have a nice job now and I do not want to lose it. I mean Monday. I like the school where I am and the kids are descent. Just a few are deifficult. I need to work on my reactions, instead of reacting, just calm and sweet write a referral and send them out.
Thank you Green and Freidicat, I will not be discouraged. I will meditate on Monday morniong and find the focus of my day. It will be to stay cool.
Hop, I am sorry I hurt your feelings. Sometimes I was in so much pain that I could not see the pain of others ro did not have sensitivity to thank other people. Sorry.
I am working on that too. Be more grateful. Little by little. One day at a time.
Lupita:
I alllow nobody to get me off center.
Hopalong:
That's okay, Lupe, and thank you for the thank you!
You are WELCOME.
So glad to hear you're doing meditation...I remember when
you were first considering learning it. That's awesome!

Hopalong:
One thing I've always read and heard about mantras is that your subconscious sucks up word associations like a vacuum and doesn't always interpret them right. So for that reason, I've heard, you always want to phrase a mantra in terms that are POSITIVE. Iow, "nobody" (contains a negative) and "push me off center" (contains "push" and "off center" which are a bit disturbing, perhaps negative to your pysche) -- and perhaps your subconscious could misinterpret these and in some way, instead give energy to the thought "nobody" and to the thought of being "off center..." -- as in, maybe possibly..."I'm a nobody, I'm off-center." (Because the subconscious isn't very reliably logical, just an active collector.)
So by this theory--instead, you'd serve yourself better to say it this way:
I am calm, strong, and centered...
This also keeps the meaning about YOU and your POSITIVE intention for yourself (not on external forces or other "bodies" coming at you from the outside). It empowers you, doesn't empower externals.
