Things that make me happy

(1/2) > >>

lighter:
Old blankets from my Grandparent's farmhouse....

New blankets that remind me of the old farmhouse blankets.....

Hot green peppermint tea.....

The house smelling of peppermint, and eucalyptus essential oils....

Clean sunny floor space..... it reminds me of the farmhouse too..... sacred spaces.....

Listening to DD16 play her piano/keyboard/Djembes, esp when she sings (lovely voice she has) which helps me sound better......... she's very kind and doesn't laugh......

Listening to DD14 play her ukulele.... esp when she sings..... not caring how I sound when we sing together.........

Being in the middle of a productive BIT session..... finishing the session..... getting good feedback....

Not having to rush through my day...... being proactive...... staying ahead of things...... (this comes and goes)

Seeing the people I care about grow and heal.....

Talking with people I share interests and passions with.....

Feeling safety, around other people, is possible again.....

Walking through snow blanketed forest late at night with dd14..... the moon bouncing light off everything, very bright.... everything seems larger, and different..... still and surreal.....

A sleepy pug pressed into the small of my back, or face to face with her paws on my chest.....

Watching my father enjoy his new Sennheiser headphones..... he seems to really like them......

Getting necessary things for the house done.....

Remembering that everything will be OK.... even if it's not OK.....

Wow all of that sounds lovely, Lighter!

I do love it when the house smells clean and fresh, although I must admit it doesn't happen as often as I would like it to!  I love getting jobs done as well, seeing the garden look nice or that pile of paperwork sorted and put away is always good.

I like sneaking off to a cafe and enjoying a coffee.  There's a lovely place near us, very bohemian, it's like being in someone's sitting room, all very comfy and cosy and lots of art on the walls and nice music.  Home made cakes as well!

I feel very happy when friends do special little things for me - ringing to see how something went, sending a little card through the post or a gift, just to show they are thinking of me.  That's very nice.  And equally I like knowing that something I did helped someone else.

Clean sheets on the bed!  I love getting into bed with clean sheets.  And the cat looking all relaxed, stretched out across the floor and refusing to budge because she's comfy and won't be swayed.  Animals know the best places to be :)

Hopalong:
pile of paperwork?

sorted
AND
put away?

Yikers and OMG and other blurts of awe...

I hope I remember when I wake up that this is what I need to do ALL DAY tomorrow! (After which, or after whatever, I'm rewarding myself by meeting a couple pals to see Hidden Figures. My faves! Racism and sexism unveiled in an actual FEEL-GOOD movie! I can't wait to see it.)

Happy in advance Saturday, everybody.

love,
Hops

Meh:
Things that make me happy.

The feeling of calm I get when I visit the countryside and can see miles into the distance in every direction. A peacefulness.

Driving over a winding river bend bridge.

Cleanliness, organization, stability.

Wine, food, good speakers or headphones.

Silly co--workers.

Restful naps with no interruptions.

Messy workshops with tools.

Hopalong:
The movie, Hidden Figures, made me heartbroken, inspired and ecstatic.

Can't recommend it more.

Audience clapped at the end. According to the Wash Post letters/comments,
that is happening in theaters everywhere.
