I had a wonderful little kitty once, half Siamese and half calico. Gorgeous. Dove gray and soft orange patterned fur...so lovely I've painted two kitchens to match her. (Even my current house follows her palette...warm light gray walls plus, in the kitchen, a funny soft-apricot-crossed-with-oh I don't know, sandstone kind of color.) She lives on in my fondness for that color combo.

She was very small. Used to aim herself between my heavy chenille bedspread and the blanket underneath and leap from the floor into a perfect curled up spot in the exact middle of my bed. It always made me laugh, because she'd form this perfectly-centered lump that looked as though it'd grown out of the mattress...not one single wrinkle from the channel she'd "swum" up through.

I'd sneak up to the bed and press gently with both hands on the mysterious lump. And I'd get a somewhat-Siamese protest.....mrowww, coming from under the spread.... Not a very serious objection but it made me laugh so much.

I'm sure I've told that kitty tale here before. Can you imagine how repetitive I'll get here when I'm REALLY old?

I'm so glad you have your crazy/silly/cuddly kitty going with you. Her adaptation is going to remind you. We're all just creatures here. We need peaceful shelter, something to eat, pack mates, and cuddles. You're going to have all that, and life will be so much better there overall.

Aw Hops, I love that you've decorated your kitchen to match the cat!  Lol, what a great inspiration for a colour scheme.  And I don't recall reading that story before, so either you haven't told it and you're not repeating yourself or you have and I've forgotten, in which case it needed to be retold :)

I wasn't quite so in love with kitty when she was vomiting at half past six this morning; there are some aspects of being a pet owner that aren't great!  But generally I do love having her around, she's very sweet and mad in quite a cute way :) xx
