Vunil:

Congrats on the pregnancy!  I remember I used to look the the Michelin Man when I got pregnant.  It will be the greatest time in your life!  Hope you are not having to much morning sickness.  Love Patz

Just had to throw in my bid for the greatest comfort food of my youth:
a peanut butter and marshmallow fluff sandwich on whole wheat bread. Honestly, it's the best!  I keep some fluff in the cupboard way back (my daughter likes it in hot chocolate!) and pull it out when I am feeling skinny (as in I could actually afford the calorie fest).
Marmite sounds absolutely disgusting...and I am a vegetarian and like some pretty strange stuff.

Vunil: if you are a marshmallow, and you do have sex...perhaps the result could be something like marshmallow fluff?

It's not so bad... if you like beer which is also an acquired taste. It's kind of like Bock beer superconcentrated. Kind of. So if you like dark beers with potato chips or pretzels, Marmite crisps are kinda like that.

Hey, is Marmite any good with melted cheddar on toast? (I love dark beer with the right kind of cheeses.) I think I'm going to go get some, I'm heading to the grocery store again. They have small jars :D along with other things for castaways from all over.

I’m a big fan (I get twitchy if I run out of it). Spread very t-h-i-n-l-y on toast, or bread and butter, or on cheese on toast, or for a taste oddity, mix on toast with peanut butter…. Marmite, full of vegetarian vitamins and minerals and probably called Vegemite down in Oz. Can’t live without it.  This is definitely something I do just for myself! 8)

Daughter and I both like to stir a small amount of Marmite into rice or lentils to make a savoury change from potatoes or whatever.  Very nice.   And the B vitamins are essential for anyone with depression - I think that is why I have cravings for it sometimes.   8)

Not tried it with peanut butter.  Must try that one day.

My current leading female name is "Poppy."  I think I like imagining how my very proper use-the-right-fork episcopalian conservative "that is not how things are done" N parents would respond to having to call their granddaughter "Poppy."  It isn't a even a family name!  Gasp!

PPS  any other pregnant ladies find that their tastes in food suddenly changed?  I might actually like yeasty stuff on toast now.

I think that Poppy is a lovely name.  Really lovely.  I think you should keep that on your list!!!!  My parents struggle with the short form of my daughter's name.  They believe in using the full 'proper' name.  And we just laugh at them.

When I was pregnant I had lots of sickness, and much of the time I couldn't face much.  Dry crackers and fizzy water.  Jacket potato with no butter or anything.  Plain rice.  Coffee made me feel sick, so I couldn't face that.

Strangely enough, exactly what my daughter now loves.  She would have jacket potato any day, and she loves rice, and hates coffee.

Yes! Marmite is great with toasted cheese! I like to toast one side of the bread and then turn it over, spread it with Marmite and then sprinkle cheese over it all and toast again until the cheese melts all over it. YUM!!

Hey, Maybe the head of Mamite is reading this and will give us all free marmite!! My address is ......

With the pregnancy clothes, I tend to stick to elastic waistband trousers with tightish tops. Not too tight as I am fairly enormous now, but show the bump off. Plus found these for fun:

They look fun!

Another thing I love and am really missing at the moment is hugs. I love to be held and my ex-bf was so big and huggable I used to love it. .... Time to look at the reasons why not to go back to him sheet .... (Yes, I really have one and it does help when the pregnancy hormones are raging!).

Indeed it is  :D  :D especially with melted cheddar (thanks October!) :D  :D but good grief, it costs the earth over here. :(  :(

Salty Bock beer, mudpup. Very salty. But really quite good!

Thanks y'all for a new decadent pleasure -- with vitamins in

[On edit -- for some reason I just remembered that my favorite (living) author, Terry Pratchett, once defined 'decadent' as 'having ten teeth' and this is striking me as extremely funny, so am sharing.]

I love Terry Pratchett too!!

I really do love all these things, I sound like one big love machine, but it's true!!

I have all his books and have met him at book signings about 10 times! He is great. I have signed copies of lots of his books, but my all time favourite is the Carpet People (even if it's not Discworld!). Closely followed by Mort. Wow! I could have such a good time with you all if we had a big "forum party" !!

I mean I own copies of books he has signed. I don't mean I have signed them! Sorry. Inane sense of humour is attacking me from all sides!
