Mum - all good things to your and your love... I'll mess with an Anatole France quote to say:  In love as in art, instinct is enough.  I hope the pleasure you receive from both lasts a month of Sundays, seeps into your core and deepens into true contentment.  Congratulations!

Mum,
I am so happy for you.  You are a beautiful person and deserve all the happiness possible. You are also a beacon of joy for the rest of us still in search of that state.  In my tiniest voice, I would aso add, Make sure that even though this man is a different species from all that has gone before, that you still retain your self, your healthy selfishness, and your clear vision.  Almost anyone can be bad if the situation is right.

Thanks to all of you. We had a fantastic day, the rain had stopped and the air was crisp.  People were in tears (good ones), because, as you know, we have an unusual story, and some of our closest friends (writers) said some wonderful words.
Our newly combined family of three kids were absolutely wonderful and charming and we still pinch ourselves that we get to be their parents!
There was some spewing of toxic drama from my N SIL, but she gets to keep her bad feelings (which she will) but (after loads of processing!) I will keep only the good stuff in my heart and I'd say the day was 99.99% good stuff. Great music, my son sat in with the band and (ok, so I am prideful) blew everybody away.  The kids did a rehearsed toast/rap that had everybody in stitches, the food was delicious....and there was so much love it was palpable.
We went to the nursing home to see my mother in our "finery" and she was so pleased and fairly lucid. That was the icing on the cake for me!It was a wonderful day..Thanks for the well wishes.
