some N'ism in me perhaps?
« on: August 27, 2006, 10:56:09 PM »
I have noticed that on the main part of this website, there is a place where you can click to read "responses to YOUR post" ...however, I notice when I do click it, the responses are not to MY POST, but it's often everyone else's posts too.  I feel this is a misleading thing.

I'm wondering if anyone else feels this way too?

Hi Laura,
I think I figured it out.
The "your" in that line, "Show new replies to your posts"--I think it's intended to be plural.

It shouldn't be, since it follows your individual name (which is singular). But I think it's a boo-boo.
Nah, I don't think that was N-ism, I just think it bugged you!

Who said software geeks knew grammar...
(no offense to any present, I'm just jealous!)  :)

Hops
"That'll do, pig, that'll do."

Hi Laura,

I don't use that option, because I normally go directly to the board and read the new threads/ replies, but I just tried it and it looks to me like that "show new replies to your posts" pulls up every thread on which you've ever posted, complete with the replies that others have added. In other words, it's not just a place to view threads that you personally have started.

Hope you have a great Monday!

With love,
