Moving forward
« on: March 04, 2007, 09:31:10 AM »
I started a similar thread but too lazy to dig back and find it.

I am working towards having small daily goals and tackling them.  Part of what I intend to do is to articulate these small goals every night before I go to sleep.  I will continue to work on this.

Today my goal is to get to church on time and to make some more goals for today AND tomorrow.

Thank you, GS!
You reminded me I want to get to church on time too.

My goals for the afternoon are to continue the paperwork I've been working on. I will take it to a coffee shop to avoide the enticements at home.

Another candle for you, for us, and for the whole Board, which I love very much.
I'm going to light it and just offer silently: Bless the board, and every soul on it.

love,
Hops

Hey!!!!!!  Do not forget GS that you are going to share your goals with me, please. I am going to follow you and tell you if it helped me. Today I went to church. If you have more ideas about positive changing thoughts I would love to know. Also I am going to the gym today.  Diet. Since the day I started the board here I have lost 10 lb.
Love,
Lupita

I love my Hops!!!

Lupita - thanks for reminding me that you are going on this journey with me.  What a gift and I almost forgot to accept it.  You go girl - 10 pounds!!!  That is absolutely incredible!!  Now that's a marvel.  I am on my way to take my mother out of town.  I'll be back later tonight and hope to connect with you.  I need to put some thought into this.

Way to go Lupita - Hey you won't believe this.  The other night I had a dream and there was a remarkable character in the dream named Lupita.  She  was about to leap from the second floor balcony onto the poolside tearrace.  I was caught offguard but realized that she would be fine.  She had supernatural powers.
When I woke up I wondered if that was you.  Isn't that odd.

Tomorrow I have to give back quizzes to a small group of little nacissists to be. These five particular students make my life miserable everyday. But I will go, I will have a positive attitude, I will teach the review first, then at the last moment I will take them to the media center and give them their quizzes there. So I have wrtnesses in case they do something inappropriate. I will be strong and will leave in the book the grade that was earned by the student and will not fall for a redo, since they did it theor own. They did not want to work. I will smile. And then enjoy the rest of my students who are wonderful. Come home and feel well knowing that Ihave dome the right thing. These kids need to learn that they are going to college next year and in college there is no professor that is going to listen to a parent who wants an A for his or her child. Hope that you think that is a good goal. if you have a better approach, tell me about it. I am a good teacher and as that I am always open to new ideas.

Lupita, I feel you have the right attitude, in your role as teacher, with regard to "challenging behavior - young people" as the general
guide is that of not enabling the behavior - this is positively beneficial to the young person, who will learn ....'boundaries'

As my friend explained to me, she works with "challenging behavior - all ages"

Best wishes for tomorrow, Leah

Dear GS and all friends that are giving us support:
Today is Monday. It is 5:37 AM. Having coffee. Need IV coffee. Not possible. I will do everything I planned. Let us see GS how we did in our goals today. My goal is to be firm to my defiant students and not to be intimidated by their powerful parents. To do the right thing knowing that it is not only the right thing but the best for them too. I will not back dawn. I will not let them retake their quizzes. They need to earn their grade. Finally, my goal is to feel well despite what other people do.
What is your goal for today, dear GS?
Lupita
