locking oneslef in a room for days...
« on: March 29, 2007, 03:12:41 PM »
Has anyone ever heard of a N, losing say his or her girlfriend, then locking themselves in a room for 3 days, not talking to anyone

I thought maybe this might be the result of losing their narscasitic supply?

does this sound familiar to anyone

It sure sounds familiar to me. My N mother used to do that as I was growing up. I thought she was nuts til I learned my dad was an N, too. She would lock the door and not come out for - surprise! - three days. My dad would send me to her room to try to get her to open the door. Other times she would go to a motel and not tell anyone where she was. She also tried to kill herself twice. I never thought about it in terms of losing her N supply - you may be right. I wouldn't pay too much attention to it; I think it's a type of tantrum and getting attention for it only rewards the behavior. That's just my opinion.

If they'd do it for three decades we might be getting somewhere.

Yes I have heard of that happening with a N more than once. In one particular situation, a N woman locked herself in a room for hours trying to get her boyfriend to feel sorry for her, etc.

XN told me he spent most of the day in the attic he was feeling so bad.  he would stay around me when supply would falter but would shut down completely.  He also would sleep for an incredible period of time........ all this makes sense now.  I was giving him no supply so he could not cope.  As he said I was holding up a mirror and he did not want to see what was in the mirror........followed by rage attack.

Mud,

I just LOVE your comments, exactly how i feel.  My fantasy for revenge would be to put all the Ns I ever met into solitary confinment and let them meet themselves.  Sam V wrote about this at one stage, he ended up having psychotic episodes, horrible stuff.

Well my xn Used to sleep all the time while I was out mowing.  If i remember correctly he would act out and then shut down.  Now I am the one who left work a week ago Wednesday and have been sleeping a lot.  I think I am depressed with the futility of my situation!
