My Course
« on: September 25, 2007, 04:33:16 PM »
Hi All,

Today was the first day of my course.  Oh it was so exciting, just induction but really good.  Met some lovely people and got some of the literature which we will be using.  Came home and started reading, it is facinating, could not put it down for ages.  I would like to discuss some of the topics and that is why I have started this thread.  Just read a paper on denial, WOW WOW WOW........ it talks about the different forms of denial, personal, societal etc.  Really tired right now so will not go into it but I wanted to share this with you.  I have signed up for the right course.

Thanks for encouragement ........... will write more later.

Axa,

It all sounds really interesting. When you've got time, I'd love to hear about your course. Starting a new course, I've found, is emotionally exhausting, with so much to take in, but if the course material looks interesting already, it's obviously the right one for you.

My degree is in Social Science, inc. Social Policy, and we did modules on social identity and how people construct their identities using products (like fashion items, mobile phones, etc), and how people deny the reality of those who they feel don't 'make the grade'. What you're studying sounds fascinating, so I hope you get time to tell me...

Dear Axa,

I am excited to hear more about this course... and very, very glad for you to know that you've made the right selection!

When you get a chance, I hope you'll post more about these various forms of denial. I know you're busy... so don't worry if you can't for awhile... just know that there's plenty of interest at this end.

And please make sure you're eating well and getting plenty of rest, drinking lots of water, vitamins... you know the routine... gotta keep up your strength for all of this fascinating stuff!!  :)

Love to you,
Carolyn
