Mud,

That's the most sensible post on the theme of 'religion' that we've had all day!

Thank You Mud For Your Cogent Post-

A lack of love, dutiful service to right, and respect have caused the hurt and damage that we all share here and seek to alleviate in ourselves and others on this Board.

In loving and serving and respecting one can see God , Universal Mind, Universal Law, Spirit and Love in it's healing wisdom and truth. This is the essence and what makes this board work as well. This is what we can do for the cause of right here- love , serve, and respect. There are many worthy things that we cannot do- provide hot meals, shelter, psychiatric interventions, or medical assistance for instance- but we are uniquely equipped to provide the essentials of life and community that can be missing in many experiences of hurting people, including love, service and respect to one another. It is an important and vital opportunity and I am thankful for the love, service and respect that I have received. It has saved my life.

Love,

Changing

Does the BIBLE say that we are supposed to keep our belief in Jesus silent? yes or no, and if so, please give me a verse that says so.

Dear Laura,

Thinking on this today....

Jesus said, "By this all men will know that you are my disciples."

The *this*, of course, is our love one for another... which again, of course, is impossible without the indwelling work of the Holy Spirit in a regenerated heart... and so... anybody can say whatever he wants (many will say unto Me: Lord, Lord...) - but the proof is in the agape love.

Hugs,
Carolyn

P.S. - Almost forgot to add... remember Jesus also said that if the people failed to shout His praises, the very stones of the earth would cry out!
 :)

Being discrete where appropriate and merely loving others as Christ did rather than ramming scripture down their throat is not hiding one's light nor does it indicate shame of Christ, rather it is having His mind.
There are many ways of preaching the gospel; one of the least effective often being to preach it in capitol letters in other people's faces.
The Spirit gives us discernment and discretion on when, where and how to deliver the gospel.
Guess it depends on what your goal is; to just say it louder than anyone else or to seek and save that which is lost by becoming all things to all men that by so doing some might be saved.

Ouch, when I read this I feel so ashamed  tail between my leggs, bad me. I hear you Mud --- you are speaking loud and clear.

I totally agree.  I rarely try to "deliver the gospel" on this board for various reasons, however, I try to show fairness and kindness to everyone to the best of my ability with the Lord's help.

My goal sure isn't to be louder about Him than anyone else.  It is INDEED to seek and save that which is lost, as you've put it and also in "saving" some...the problem is when certain people become offended at us even admitting that we WANT to see them saved, because not all people can accept that they are not saved to begin with.

As far as people objectioning to my thread here, it is my understanding that, unless Dr G forbids a certain line of topic, ANYTHING goes as long as it's not defamatory of a person, etc...if I'm wrong, please let me know, because that might mean I decide to find a different place to hang out and post.

Shame on me....I will never open my mouth again unless I can edify. I'm just not perfect enough so I'll shut up.

None of my posts have been referring to anyone in particular.
I hope no one takes them that way.
