Saturday reading...maybe

"If someone offered you a pill that would make you permanently happy, you would be well advised to run fast and run far. Emotion is a compass that tells us what to do, and a compass that is perpetually stuck on north is worthless."

Thanks Hermes, I have been to one of those sights before and spent a bit of time there. You are so good to share resources. I spent a bit of time yesterday reading a book I downloaded that you had suggested on the "what Helps" part of the board. It was very interesting.

Many thanks Emptied, for those kind words.

I have been reminded that I am a newbie on this board, so I am trying to pick my steps (sometimes maybe putting my foot in it LOL).  I will keep trying.

I hope you have a great week-end.

I am not sure where all the people on this board live (I do not mean an exact location, but maybe the country or even the continent).
Anyhow, I live in Europe.

Best wishes
Hermes

Dear Hermes,

I have been reminded that I am a newbie on this board, so I am trying to pick my steps (sometimes maybe putting my foot in it LOL).  I will keep trying.

All I merely said on your other thread was "you don't know me yet, as you have only joined the board"

Then, I went on to explain the area of voluntary work that I enjoy, as do multitudes of others.

All of which, was and is, in Context to which you had written to me.

No reminder at all, new friend on board, truly.

Love, Leah

No problem, Leah.  Just trying to be funny.  We Irish engage a lot in banter, no implied offence.

Definitely agree that no one should disclose where they live if they do not wish to do so, for whatever reason, or even for no reason at all.

Just asked, mainly because I wish to make an effort to overcome the cultural gap there might be.  I have learnt, to my cost LOL, in the past, that a perfectly innocuous remark or contribution is taken up wrongly.  Let me put it differently, we are more outspoken I think over here, and that can be misconstrued.  This does not mean one is impolite or inconsiderate towards others.  It is simply different, that is all.  That is all I am trying to get at.

Have a good weekend
Hermes
