GOD & scripture: Why is it showing up at all on this board?

I knew An has been here longer than I (Used to be kellydckm)  I will bet An can attest that there have been fights throughout the history of the board.  Laura took it too far both from being too obstinate to being too religious.

I can honestly say that this board was a great outlet to me when I first came to stay with my totally Nmother eldercaring her.  It really helped me keep my sanity at a time when I needed some help.  I hadn't seen her but one time in over 20 years, and getting stuck here was difficult as all getout as she was just so mean as she could be (and, of course, the usual N issues with selfishness and high impulsivity on her part).  But I adjusted slowly, and she calmed down the more feeble she became; so, it's pretty mellow right now.   
And, yeah...sometimes this board attracts fruits and nuts, but, overall, the people here are great people.  They really bend over backwards trying to support and help. 
Now I just pop back in from time to time.

OK, I reread this thread.  I get why some of you need religion, but some of us don't...and some of us will get totally turned off to hearing about it, too.  I guess each one of us just will have to express ourselves the best way we can, and hope we don't offend anyone. 
Me, I get totally turned off hearing anything about religion...but that is just me.  Obviously, many are fine with it.  So...as they say on "Project Runway"..."carry on..."
