OK, now I am going to start power walking to work my way back up to jogging three or four times a week like I used to. Actually, I used to run 3 miles a day about 5 days a week. Now my only exercise routine is walking from the parking garage to my work and back.

I think that as you get older it becomes harder to break old habits and harder to start new ones but the up side is that once a new habit is started it is hard to break it...

* When dealing with toxic people remember that exercise is your best friend. Exercise relives both mental and physical tensions. It helps the body to produce healing chemicals that will repair your body and help you think more clearly. Exercise also encourages the release of endorphins, chemicals that relieve pain and help you to feel good both mentally and physically.

What a wonderful, helpful reminder, Lise... thank you!

On vacation here, I'm sitting more than usual the last couple days and definitely needed this! Really need the release of some of the toxic rubbish which can accumulate at times.

((((((((((Lise)))))))))  wishing you great success as you put your plan into action... you can do it!

Love,
Carolyn

Thanks Carolyn -- I have a tendency to think that in order for me to start a new routine I need to wait for God to strike me with lighting or for a flashing neon sign to fall on my head. But just like the nike commercials I should "just do it."

I love to exercise.
I feel such a sense of peace and well being when I exercise. I started swimming a mile a day in college.I would have such a sense of well being when I got out of the pool. Anything that bothered me would be gone.
Now, I do the Nordic Track(cross country skiing) which is so much fun b/c you get in to the rhythm of the movement . I use an I pod and listen to music or Spanish tapes.
For me, I see exercise as an outlet and a remedy for  emotional problems such as depression, anxiety, or stress.      Ami
