Something I always do--is it 'normal'?

Today I received an email from work that she had processed a Credit card (but was to stop on the 4th last banking day of the month, for my balancing purposes)
I responded with it  likely wont be a problem since it was a Credit at the end of a whole bunch of Debits, so thanks for letting me know

I took the deposit to the bank and when she ran a tape on the cheques she had $50.00 less than my total. She looked at me as though it was my error. I wasn't worried. She looked for the difference and she had misread $75 as $25.
I said oh ....I receive a typewtitten copy of the receipt which would have read $75 so I wouldn't have had that problem (made it understandable)

I can't even think through the problem, let alone tell you if something you did was normal.  Just a guess - I think you're normal  before, during and after!

Not really a problem.
Looks like I soft pedal for the other so s/he won't feel too badly about making an error, because I used to be that way and would feel people would think I was 'dumb'. careless, whatever.

I think there's a big difference in being kind on purpose and 'acting king' out of dysfunction.  My take is that you did the former and I think that's a good thing.  I say, good on you!

Hello Iz.

Most people like to "save face" when there is an error.  Sometimes there is an error and no one is really to blame, it just happened.  It's very mature to avoid the blame game and simply take care of the issue with no unnecessary fireworks.  Way to go.

I do this a lot too, and I am trying not to as much. I don't feel I should take the blame for others anymore. I think I did it before so that I wouldn't make them feel bad and so I could avoid any confrontation. I think what I try to do now is say, gee, I guess there is a mistake, but not tag on to the end that I did something to cause it.
I don't think you do anything wrong - I think we are just geared that way after being the ones to bear so much for so long.

No I don't take blame for others.
When someone makes an error I soft pedal that by giving them an excuse that I had/saw something else that they didn't that prevented my making the same error. Makes us both come out okay.

If an error is made I can also find a reason why this time it won't be as bad as it would have back on Mar 25 or something, so all clear!

Some people, I expect, don't give a rat's as* if they do make a misdtake but all in all it makes life nicer when all goes along smoothly. We don't know if we are dealing with one of us who is having a bad day as well!
