Gratitude (Beth's) Thread
« on: May 05, 2009, 07:59:25 PM »
I did not want to hijack Beth's thread about her MIL .I started a new thread b/c  I wanted to talk about the subject of regrets
I regret that I listened to the NM's messages that I was bad. I took her shame and wore it as a heavy  coat.
It  almost killed me and it was all a lie.
For my M, *I* was the wastebasket of her thrown off self.
I have so many regrets for how I lived my life.
My GM would say "Youth is wasted on the young."
I didn't get it then, but knew it was important. Now,I get it .       Ami

I know, Ami. It is hard to move past what we were taught to feel about ourselves. But you could not have grown as much without that muck to grow from... Keep moving forward and don't lose any more time with regrets...

Thanks Beth
I see how I thought normal thoughts and feelings were bad b/c my M split off her good/bad and gave me the bad.
I am kind of in shock about the falsehoods I took as real.
Now that I can see some of the truth, I truly am in shock at how I rejected myself. Do you ever feel this way?    Ami
