((((hops)))))

thanks Hops, thanks for hearing my pain

I did call and actually talked to the 16 year old this morning.  Doing surprisingly well.

I'm sending him a Christmas gift - some cash and an offer to start looking for a lawyer, if he ever needs/wants one.

It was interesting to hear the strength in his voice.  I asked him if Mom/Dad were giving him money.  He said Dad sent him a check awhile ago.  I asked him how he felt about getting money from Dad.  He said it was OK, that he knew his Dad might provide because "legally he has to.  He said "I don't expect his moral obligation, though."

This, from a 16 year old who is taking care of himself.  Can you believe it?  I am absolutely stunned and in awe of this kids strength and courage to tell it like it is and be OK.

Very inspiring.  I learned something from him today.

Aww, Bean, you're a hero.
I mean it.

You've been wrestling with the ugliest beast there is.
That has to make a difference, somehow.

Even if it's one day when she's 18 and you can contact her and tell her, I tried, I fought.

love and courage,

Hops

I agree with Hop. It takes a great person to not turn the other way like most people. When she needs someone to talk to about it, she doesn't have to look or feel helpless. You will be there.
