NLAS, that really irritates me that your mom is charging things on your card. That is sooo backwards ... and why the h**l is she keeping you dependent upon her with buying and loaning you this car if she needs your credit card? My stepsister's mom did that to her. She opened accounts in her daughter's name and ruined her credit. You probably will have to invest in identity insurance etc. and then close out any accounts your mom has been using and set up alerts on your credit reports. It would be hard to actually press charges against your own mom, but you COULD do it if you chose to, and if you make sure you close all of her little ratholes of taking advantage of you, and then make sure you have identity protection and alerts on your accounts, at least you can catch her before she absolutely trashes your finances.
My son's soon to be ex mother in law did the same thing. She would buy and buy and buy them stuff (and pre-empt any other family members that wanted to give the newlyweds gifts, there was never anything "left" to give them or the baby) ... and then borrow money from them and then also throw her buying for them up in their faces. My son really resented that. With these people, giving really means getting, and loving really means killing you slowly.
