interesting article:
http://abcnews.go.com/Health/psychopath-book-ids-subclinical-lying-manipulating-callous-behavior/story?id=16598607
I love that there an awareness of the pillar of the community type who is being identified here. Its not the obvious troublemaker. I think I have dealt with several of these people over the years. The irony is that if I complained I might actually be seen as the manipulator. The psychopath can gaslight the vitcim when they complain. Good to know. A good reason to never complain. I stopped complaining at one point in a work situation because I felt I was not being believed, so I let it go until the boss harassed someone else, then they suddenly wanted my support.

This looks interesting. I'm distracted by the woman's long dreadlocks though--sort of an odd photo to select.
Written by a criminal defense lawyer.....gosh, I'm sure he does have some insight. I might read this book :)
Then I would want to go back and compare it to the Alice Miller books.Try to mesh it together or see where there are huge differences in thinking about how this all evolves.
