Hi everybody,
I received a call from Izzy *now*'s sister today. She told me that Izzy passed away yesterday. Izzy's sister wanted the Board to know of her death, and said that "she (Izzy) was at peace now." I know from Izzy's years of posting here that she had a difficult life, and I also know that all of you who responded with care and concern made a difference. I'm sure Izzy would want to thank you for that...

Thank you for letting us know, Doc G.
I feel sorrow and also relief for Izzy, that she's no longer prisoner of a body that tortured her for so many years. The amount of daily pain this woman endured broke my heart. Her pluck and persistence awed me. I was inspired by Izzy's daily courage.
I find it very consistent with her determined realism that she left instructions for contacting you, so we would know. That was Izzy (whose name I know from a few cheerful personal messages, was Annie) -- rooted in the real. And there was kindness too. Several times when I was suffering most acutely, she reached out to me.
I'm grateful for all I learned from her curiosity, and the way she crawled from deepest hardship and loneliness into her own sense of light. That she found love and comfort with her close caregivers in the last few years was wonderful. I was so glad that happened.
Ahh, Izz, my friend. I'll truly miss you.

Won't be the same without Izzy around, such a strong and courageous woman, very kind of her sister to get in touch, my sincere condolences to her and thanks, Dr G, for passing on the news.
Have a picture in my mind of Izzy up on a cloud, kicking up a storm and having a good time free of pain and concern and the so many things she had to deal with :)

Sad news...
but as Hops says the relief she needed is now hers. Look out heaven! New girl in town...
Thanks for the news.

Very sad news. Though I'm glad her struggles are over. I am fascinated that her sister contacted Dr. Grossman and my mind spins wondering how she knew to. I can't help but wonder if she found izzys posts as she began settling her affairs and ...

Knowing Izz, she probably left a prominent note on her computer with her username and password so those left behind could get in touch with Doc G.
Bravo.
And I hope they read her posts and history here in her honor.

I pray for Izzy's daughter, and grandchildren.......
I don't suppose they ever made peace, or said the goodbyes that bring peace, and closure.

I returned to this board today after being gone for a long time. I am saddened to hear of Izzy's passing. She was a wonderful presence here on this board. She will be missed. I am glad though that there will be no more pain for her. She was an inspiration. Worn
