As most of you know, the message board was hacked on Friday, Dec. 10.  While there is no guarantee that this will not happen again, I have upgraded the software to the latest version for our protection.  I apologize for the abusive e-mail that the hacker sent to all members under my name/e-mail address.  The board was restored to Dec. 8th.  Therefore, all those who registered after that date will need to register again.  Also, posts after the 8th are no longer available--for this I apologize as well.

Best,

Richard

Thanks for your quick work. After not having this board for a few days I've come to realize how much it's helping me. Thanks again!

Kelly Here!

Gee Whiz!  I wonder who did it?  One of those folks who had a feud right before it happened!!!!!????  "I'll show you.............."

Anyway, glad to see it's back - I was missing all of you and hadn't posted for some time anyway!

Wondered if the feud-and-dash posters were involved. I hope not. Just because it's time for them to move on doesn't mean it's right to spoil it for everyone else. :(

Hi everyone,

The hacker was not a board participant.  Hacking boards is a sport for (voiceless?) teenaged boys in an attempt to display power, control, and dominance.  When asked why they hack the rationalization often given is:  I did this as a warning.  You need to make the board safer.  (Of course if this were true a simple e-mail to the board owner would suffice.)  The hacker of our board had all of these characteristics.  Of course if he'd like to better explain his specific experience with voicelessness and why he needs to express himself in the way that he does, he's welcome to post here in the customary, non-monopolizing way   :) .

Best,

Richard

I am so, so, SO glad that you were able to reinstate the board.  There's so much here that means a great deal to to so many people.

Like everyone else I received the unpleasant email - stomach looped the loop!  So I popped back here and found...nothing!  Big OUCH!

I went through a few different 'grieving' moments over the past few days.  My first concern was for the owner of the board (  why do I do that LOL), then I realised that I'd 'lost' much of my own writing, process, progress.  I know I retain it internally, but nevertheless, it was a loss and reminded me of other similar losses - issues about trusting others to look after things which are important to me.  And then I realised that I'd lost what others had written - especially what they had written to me but then also what they had written about themselves, their own lives and experiences.  And then there was the loss for the future -  all the learning and experiences expressed here.

Hmmm - things to reflect on in the context of dad's death.

I hadn't given up hope tho - so glad to see you all here again - and some new voices.  :-)

I must admit, I thought the motivation was revenge - there has been so much anger expressed here at times, I thought someone had got just so frustrated and angry that they'd felt it necessary to destroy the whole board!!

May your voices boom!  :-)
