Title: Happy 2021 y'all!
Post by: sKePTiKal on December 31, 2020, 10:35:45 AM
Thought I'd get this up early - coz I'm about to go out & do my thing in "meatspace". And I seriously doubt I'm staying up for midnight; haven't for some years now. I'd much rather face an unknown future armed with a large pot of coffee... than late at night, blurry-eyed and ruminating on the past year.

For all the obvious struggles of 2020, there were still many good things that have come out of it. Maybe we'll see more of them come to fruition next year. May you and yours be well... and experience and share kindness to all who can perceive it.

Oh - and I feel motivated to start the new year by giving the house a deep-cleaning and maybe rearrange a few things. Working on the studio space at the moment.

Thanks, Amber and Tupp.
I'm wishing everyone a Peaceful New Year because Happy feels like a bridge too far until the pandemic passes.

But I DO know it WILL, and that makes a quiet form of "happy" pop up in spite of the caution I feel.

I like the stillness of December and the hopefulness of January. So gratitude for both of those is helpful too.

M and I had a nice evening making soup together a few days ago--outstanding soup, and because we were cooking in my kitchen rather than his, it was much more of a mellow team exercise.

I MIGHT make a simple Hoppin John and take him some for his lunch tomorrow. Got the recipe, just need to find the resolve to cook again.

I've been keeping the house much more picked up and find going into the kitchen a pleasure now, as I've refused to less it get messy. Dishes and counters are decluttered and clean and I'm maintaining MUCH better than I used to.

Maybe that's all a happy New Year will mean for me, but if I can extend it around the house, that's going to be wonderful.

A good 2021 in whatever way happy manifests to everyone!

hugs,
Hops

Hi everybody,

Happy New Year from me as well—and thank you for making the message board such a special place for 20 years.  Please, everyone, take care in these very difficult times.  You are important to me, and I don’t want to lose you.

Richard

SO much gratitude for you, dear Doc G. It's not even expressible how much this Board you created (and maintain, never seeking thanks) has done to help me survive and grow during very difficult times. It's beyond my capacity to make plain what the support and friendship here has done for me. You made it all possible.

"Thank you" isn't enough, but THANK YOU.

Please stay well, keep us posted on how you are, as we don't want to lose you either!

love,
Hops
