Window Pain

The window pain is full of fear
Tearful eyes distort glass so clear--
When I look inside is anyone there?

Threshold of pane could differentiate doubt,
You never feel rain when having a drought--
Does this expression come from in or out?

Those emerging feelings of life in our heart
Like a sill’s firm hold on glass shattered apart--
Grow wise and insightful to build a new start.

Look out through glass and reflect within
The true mirror rejects artificial skin--
To know where we’re going, we must know where we’ve been.

"To know where we’re going, we must know where we’ve been."

aye, the unexamined life is not worth living is it...I guess it's more 'existing' than 'living'...

like the word-play, words play H, thank you.

Hi survivor,

Poetry is usually lost on me, (at least the ones that don't start 'There was a young girl from Nantucket...' ) but even I appreciated your's.

I hope you will feel like staying around and sharing some of your story here, if you feel comfortable doing that. Or maybe you have already and I missed it.
Love the username by the way.
