Title: Just an update

I haven't been posting much lately, until a flurry in the last day or two. I'm swamped (job hunt, current job, Ma needs more care since she got out of PT, daughter visited, and my back is whacked--seeing a surgeon in 2 weeks) but I'm reading faithfully. I notice it hurts not to be able to chime in sometimes!

But I feel a little as though my plug's been pulled and I don't have a lot of energy. I know that will pass. Meanwhile, just wanted to thank each and every one of you for being here...I learn from all of you. I am dazzled by the strength, wisdom and caring of this genuine community.

I have been thinking how I tend to zero in on qualities in others, both positive and negative, that I identify with myself. That's something I'd like to ponder more.

Who knows, I might be posting pages any minute now. But if I can't, just wanted to say hello and I am sending support. I'll be baaaaack.

Big hugs to you.... it is hard when we have a lot on in our lives to find the time. I find that when I reply to this board, most of the time I like to really think about what I want to say and how the other person will perceive it, and it is very difficult when we can't find time to do that.

Ponder away also... pondering is good and if you want to share then there will always be an ear here to listen :lol:

Lovely to hear from you! You still ‘exist’ here to me even when you don’t post. I imagine you reading (and others I think about) and wonder what you think of it. I think ‘what would Hops say?’ and things like that.

Even when an extravert is not posting….they still exist as a member 8)! (taking Dorothy Rowe’s interpretation of how extraverts feel when under stress – that they start to ‘disappear’ – whereas introverts ‘fall apart’ or external reality falls apart, while they are still very much existing.) It might not be much of a consolation, but you’re always here in my mind!

Glad to hear you’re going to a surgeon, hope you get some help and that you can be back with a better back Ms. Arnie.

I have been busy, too. Increasing my school load and we got a new darling little puppy that is keeping me awake at night. I am glad you posted an update. Can I ask??? What might be the difficulties with your back? Are we possibly talking about a big surgery?

I can tell you this made me smile all over. It was a lovely birthday. Hardest part was tearing myself away to go, and I'm glad I went!

PS--Sherrif, maybe a little surgery (laparoscopic procedure to insert a "spring" widget into a disk...but basically, it's an evaluation to see if I need that or not yet or not at all. Will keep y'all posted. Biggest concern is 6-8 weeks' recuperation, what to do with old Mom? I have 3 slipped disks from stoooooopid heavy lifting--incuding both my parents when they were ill. But I first hurt it all on my stupid own in my 20s, since then it's been vulnerable to re-injury.)
