As I was reading through the other postings, an incident with another Nrelative came to mind. This Nrelative wanted to just "drop in" to see my home. I responded with: "If you come to see me, you're welcome anytime. If you've come to inspect my housekeeping, you need to make an appointment." She got real pissed off. Looking back at that incident, I think the reason she got pissed off is because I called her on the game she was attempting to play on me and I wasn't having it.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
Thanks!

Not familiar to me but boy do you have great insight!
Way to go Bones. You clearly have no trouble
taking care of yourself.
I'll take some of that please. - GS

It's kind of like my sister's wedding when they wanted me to wear a dress I didn't want to wear and play a part I didn't want to play. I told them I didn't want to be maid of honor. She called me seething with anger. Her words were literally hissed out and she asked me what our relatives would think. I lived an ocean away... I told her to tell them whatever she wanted. My dad told me (and her) that I didn't have to wear anything I didn't want or be part of the ceremony.
Ugh....

Wow, Gratitude28! Your sister sounds like a piece of work!!!! The nonsense she came out with: "what our relatives would think" is virtually identical to the kind of mess that my Nmother used to throw at me! Yuck!!!!
