Thanks RM, you know a friend who has a big weight issue told me recently that she was dropped as a bridesmaid by another friend. She had the dress fitted and everything, then was no longer invited to the proceedings and her erstwhile friend stopped returning her calls- didn't even have the decency to borach the topic.
My friend may be big but she is very beautiful. I would be proud to have her by my side on a big day.
I don't know what motivates people to be so cruel and unthinking as to prioritise the look of something into some kind of stereotype, but it's profoundly unhealthy and I am coming to see it as 'meanness of spirit'.

GAAAAAAAGGH!
The @#$%^&* bride just ought to use her Barbie dolls for ladies in waiting, I mean, bridesmaids.
Weddings are to marriage as plastic surgery is to aging gracefully.
How horribly cruel, shallow and mean-spirited.
If I were a man, I would cancel. How she treats her friends now is how she'll treat you later.
Awful.

Great article. It does emphasize distance from these types. Good to see that knowlege of Narcissism might be getting more into the mainstream now. Maybe we won't have to be constantly educating people.......

Hi RM,
It is a great article maybe narcissism will be more mainstream and understood like child abuse .
The bridesmaid thing was so unkind.
