Title: Extreme coping

This is for those dysfunctional ways of coping, which we know are not exactly ideal, but which work.  Stuff which, if we did it every day, would not be a good idea, but which once in a while are the only way to get through the day.


Eating a whole packet of chocolate biscuits in one go.   :D

Sitting for an hour in a bubble bath.  Twice a day.   :?

Deciding that there is nothing so urgent it can't wait until Monday.  Monday is for business.  Sunday is for hiding.

Maybe we need a very large, very warm, swimming pool, plus bubbles.  Then everyone can join in.

This summer I took the kids to Sea World in San Antonio. It was just after we had gotten back from the trip to my parents', which left me deflated and feeling as if I had escaped yet again...So sad. And I was lonely. We spent 10 hours at Sea World, 5 of them in the wave pool and surrounding water hours and for that time I just felt great. I felt like we should probably go home, but the water was warm and the day was hot and there were no associations with anything. I just floated...
