Just thought i would share a thought that went through my mind today.
A son wins the Lottery and approaches his father with the news. The son then makes an offer to the father: You can have half the money and no further contact with me, or you can have no money and continued contact with me. This is how I would categorize certain responses:
Evil Response: I will take the money.
Narcissist Response: Why can't I have both you and the money.
Good Response: That is a silly question, it is my time with you that I value and that can never be replaced by money.
COMMENTS PLEASE

My father would say: Why don't I have the money and look after it for you, you can have some when you need it.

"Nonsense, don't talk to me about money. I love you so much that I want to move into your new mansion and live with you so we can be closer."
???

or from another point of view the son ( being generous ) would want to give some of his money away & work out the healthy emotional distance from Dad anyway?!

My mom doesn't need the money so it is a moot point. However, she may want me to put some money into our business. What I think I would do is buy her out and then drop kick her!!
