Today is day one of my garage sale. I went through most of my daughter's stuff and then I went into the basement! Talk about overwhelming! It looks like a bomb went off in Toys R Us! Trash. Old furniture. Great right? No. My H and I are sore and cranky-I enlisted a 23 year old man to come over and help us move stuff up to the driveway! It will be so nice to have all this stuff gone but boy what a job!

Dear Kelly
Congrats. Cleaning out things can give you a new lease on life. It 'cleans" out your head, also. I am so happy that you did so much and you are on your way .
It seems like you have many positive things to look forward to. Love Ami

Good going, Kelly!
You've worked so hard... I hope that the sale goes great and you have lots of eager buyers :)
I don't have space anymore to be a packrat, but ohh... do I ever remember those days! Good riddance!!
Can you take a break today?
Hope

No break but it is over in an hour. We have made over $200 so far! Thing is all the good stuff is gone-maybe I can drag more stuff up from the basement!

Hey OC
Your basement sounds like mine - like an air bomb went off and toys got blown everywhere :D
Just last night my H said to me - I had a pack rat moment.
I said what is a pack rat moment? He replied that it is when you save something useless (that really should have been thrown away), and you finally find a use for it.
I laughed and said, the times that really bother me are the pack rat moments that might have been. I save something useless for years, throw it away, and then find a use for it within a week of throwing it away! (Just reinforces my pack-ratishness [is that a word?])
Good luck with the garage sale!
Peace

:D :D :D Yes, it's just before pack-rattivity in the packrat's dictionary :)
Kelly, The sale sounds like a huge success... congratulations!! NOW I hope you can take a breather 8)
Love,

Hope - you crack me up!!
OC - I hope you can get into a nice hot bubble bath (Jacuzzi would be better) or better yet, maybe a massage tomorrow.
Take care,
Peace

That sounds nice! And I meant movie in the earlier post. The thing that my kids do is mix trash and photos and clothes in bags and then they throw them in the basement so when it is time to in through them there is no throwing anything away without going through it all for fear of throwing something away!

lol... oh, Kelly... been there! Anytime the kids clean their rooms, I have to go through the black bags of "trash" because my son, especially, tends to throw away anything he doesn't feel like finding a place for! Also, I've come to really appreciate those see-through storage buckets and boxes, like the ones you can slide under the bed, because if he's stashing empty tootsie roll wrappers in there after his midnight snack :o the evidence is clearly visible :D

It is over! What a pain! Never again. I will try very hard to NOT be a pack rat!
