Hello Darren,

You weren't an odd kid, you were in an odd situation, to put it mildly.

I'm glad that you are on your journey.

Welcome, Darren. Thank you for writing all that.
It must have been draining to do. I am sorry your mother was insane.

What a BRAVE and resourceful and resilient kid you were,
to survive so much violence and craziness.

Here's wishing you a gentle-voiced companion who will
speak kindly to you for the rest of your days.

(Even if it's a beagle.)

love,
Hopalong

(((((((((((((((Darren)))))))))))
I am very glad you are here. I read your other post too, but haven't had much time to write. Your story will help others and I hope you are finding some peace here among us as well.
Love, Beth

Wow darren I just read your story.  The way you described doing your laundry while all that insanity was going on around you just says it all.  What an image.   I recognized what you said about your mom starting in on your brother first thing in the morning and provoking and provoking.  My dad did that to me also.  He would wake me up at 7 a.m. on a Saturday and be angry because I "expected to sleep in all day."  Then he would demand I do a list of chores starting immediately.  It was all to make me lose my cool so that he would be justified in raging.  Sick.  It never ever got to the pitch of violence as with your bro, who sounds like quite a lost soul.  I'm sorry.  Thank you for sharing your story.
