I'm wondering if it is an N trait to find that everything is either the best you ever had (done, saw, etc) or the worst of the same. As I think back over my relationship, I remember this as being a strange trait. Whenever we went somewhere or did anything it was either/or. At first it seemed endearing that N was so enthused, but I wonder if this is a normal characteristic or just his quirk.

Hi Alone-
There are many books, articles, etc with lists of N traits , many good ones on this site.
It surely seems that you may have been dealing with someone with an all-or-nothing attitude with you, as a device for keeping you under control and wanting the "all" seal of approval rather than the "nothing". As Ami says- BLEEH! You deserve support and love in your relationships, and are well-rid of that joker! No more mind control for you!!! You are in control now!!
Love and hugs,

Dear Alone,
I just want to say that I think that you are doing so well pulling yourself up from N abuse. You are learning so fast and are a real inspiration to me. Love Ami

Ami,
Thank you so much, that means alot coming from you. I was several miles from N's house last night (met some friends for dinner) and he actually lives over 50 miles from me. I was so proud that didn't even make an attempt to go by or anything. One day at a time, but no contact.

Hi Alone,
Your first post here reminds me of the N trait of grandiosity, which I think morphs into exaggeration.
Just simple pleasures or simple disappointments seldom seem to apply...not enough drama!
