Does anyone know anything about what the purpose of these are? Do they help with weight loss? Irritable bowel?

I know a lot about them,Kelly. Their purpose is to simulate what our body should do naturally. IOW, for many reasons, we may not have the proper digestive enzymes(stress, aging, poor nutrition), so we can take them in order to get back to what is needed.
That is the purpose. It would not help in losing weight, specifically.
It assists a natural process,digestion, when it is impaired. Ask any more questions,if you have them,Kelly. Love Ami

Dear Overcomer, there is one digestive enzime that is very important. Colesistokinine. The importance of this enzime is that it not only acts in the digestive system but also acts directly on the brain center of satiety. It takes hunger away. It is only produced with the presence of portein or lipids in the duodenum. If you only eat vegetables its stimulation is very low, so many people do not feel satiety with eating only vegetable. For this to work you need to have a minimum of lipid and protein, IOW meat and a little of fat.

You guys- what does IOW Mean? And Lup-I have never heard of the one you speak of-and I do not understand what you were talking about with the protein and fat and vegs. Can you elaborate?

Fat activates a hormone called cholecystokinan which gives a signal to the brain to tell you when you’ve had enough. It’s a satiety signal. “After an amount of fat, you will feel full and you will not eat anymore. With carbohydrates, you don’t feel that usually. People can eat a whole packet of chips and they keep eating it because there’s no feedback saying you’ve had enough. So you might have had 1000 kilojoules and you still don’t feel like you’ve had enough. So you keep eating.” Omega-3 fish oils are the ones that have received enormous positive publicity; they assist brain function and don’t make you fat. The best advice is to eat the good fats; avoid the bad fats.

Do you buy these or do they occur naturally? so it is the omega Fat that works?
