Hi everyone,

It will be interesting to see whether these results are confirmed in a bigger, broader, and more recent sample:

Dear Richard,
It's probably better than fighting with your golden retriever....

I think with an equal partner there will always be some level of disagreement. My husband and I argue about points often, but rarely heatedly. In most cases, one of us concedes easily and is willing to accept the others' point of view. I think, overall, we share large views on issues important to us. We work through the smaller issues daily. I definitely think this is much better than accepting what your partner has to say and then steaming about it. I can definitely see where that would bring stress and anger into a relationship.
Love, Beth

I agree.  There is nothing like a healthy, communicative row to clear the air, much as a thunderstorm does LOL.

The happiest couples I know, some married close on 40 years, do have rows.  Maybe it is a cultural thing.  But we volatile Irish, and other Europeans, do fly off the handle in marriage arguments, and it is not the end of the world.
It is far far worse to suppress the annoyance, and bottle it up.  That leads to resentment, and maybe a stomach ulcer. L.

All the best
Hermes
