Wow! I didn't know I was so smart!
I just spoke with a friend of mine about the nasty gram I received via email this morning. (see the thread titled Isn't it funny?) He reminded me of something that I had said to him a while back, and as it turns out, it now pretains to my situation (and many of yours as well).
He was in a relationship with a woman who turned out to be bi-polar. He didn't know it until she ran out of her medication and bit his head off for no good reason. She apparently really hurt his feelings and said some very nasty things to him.
I told him that even though the things she said to him felt like a personal attack, they weren't. I reminded him that she was a sick person and that the ugliness he witnessed was actually her sickness coming out, not a representation of her feelings towards him. I also told him that if he were to continue with his relationship with her, he should be prepared to expect more hateful, left field attacks.
Funny, but hearing those words now quoted back at me in MY time of need, I realize how accurate they truely are! I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I sure can give some good advise!
