Hi Again,
This has been a hard week. My best friend's mom died. I have known my friend for 14 years, and have been friendly with her mom for that time. I am sad for her and sad her mom is gone. I wish I could do something to take the pain for my friend. She and her mom were so close. They talked every day and she loved my friend's kids and knew what they did day-to-day. She had fought a disease for the past year, and was tired of fighting. I know that and I am happy she has been released. My friend is too, but she is also devastated.
I am sad. I am sad because I cared about her mom. She was funny and sweet.
I think I am also sad that I will never have that. At a time like this, I think I should be tinking of my mother, but I am not. I don't even think I would miss her.
I don't know what I am saying here, but I needed to get this out.
Thank you.
Love, Beth

Dear Beth,
I am sorry about the loss of this special person. She sounds like what a mother should be. Your friend was fortunate to have her, and you, also.
It is always a shock when we lose s/one we love, even if it was ''expected"'. I don't think death is ever 'really" expected.
As far as your feelings toward your M, you just have to be honest.
One thing that made me "crazy' was trying to make my M 'normal" ,in my own mind.
I remember flying home from college and taking a Valium ,on the plane.
I wanted my M to be "normal. I wanted to be a "normal" kid ,coming home from college to see a "normal," loving M,like my Aunt or GM.
IF I could have faced the truth(or had s/one be honest with me),I would not have had to retreat in to emotional illness.
So, I think that your honesty is healthy, Beth. Honesty, to ourselves, is always healthy(IMO) Love Ami

So sorry you're experiencing this sad time.
Remember, and remind your dear friend.... that her mothers' at peace.... we're the ones who suffer when someone we love moves on.
Her spirit will go on within you all.... every time she crosses your minds or a ritual she began is repeated.... she's there with you.

Beth, you are a loving friend.
How lucky she is to have you.
You can't "take the pain for her" but you can be present with her...
I'm sorry for your loss, and hers.
love to you,
