Title: 19 yo girl wrapped her car around (literally) telephone pole
Post by: lighter on May 14, 2008, 08:26:26 AM
This happend about 9:30pm last night.

At the entrance to the neighborhood.

I went to sleep before everyone figured out what happened..... dreaded waking up to the news.

It took the rescue team an hour to get her out.

Everyone was amazed that she was screaming LOUDLY when they pulled her out.

The hospital had emergency air service standing by in case of transport.

The emergency crew knew what to expect.

The screaming wasn't on the list of expectations.

I'm told impacts like that are usually (immidiately) fatal or......

the occupants bleed out when they're removed from the car.

That she was basically uninjured.....

was a miracle.

A little head bump is what they're saying.

This is a terrific ad for side door airbags: /

oh.... Lighter...

how are you doing with this? I find sometimes, that traumas that occur "close to home" sometimes affect me greatly even when I'm not involved. Just depends on the exact emotional space I'm occupying...

I was dreading a traumatic outcome like a family member was involved.

So glad the teen's OK..... just can't tell you.

Thanks for asking ((Amber))

Light,

Oh that is terrible.  I hate hearing or seeing things like that.  That poor girl.  I am glad she is alright.  Your heart stops when you hear these things especially when you really hear it and it is home.  And just a kid.  She must have been so frightened.  I'm glad she just had noogies.

Love
Deb

Yikes.
She's a lucky girl.

Sorry, L. I know you don't need any trauma.

Oh guys..... yesterday was a sad day.

A friend's missing 32yo son was found about a mile from his vehicle.

He'd been missing for over a week.

His wallet and clothes were found in the car, which was very confusing.

It looks like he had an epileptic seizure and wandered off.

Heavy heavy heart today...... so sad for my friend.

I've been avoiding thoughts about how my friend will come out of this..... won't be good.

The funeral's soon and I never do well at those.

Just be beside her.
All you can do, but it's a lot.

Stay focused in the present.

My friend's son won't be buried until June.

They can't find a cause.... and there are things missing.  Bones were taken by animals.

So much time went by and this just makes things worse.

No closure... can't put him to rest and say goodbye.

They'd just started a business together a few weeks before this happened and there's more problems with that.

I can't imagine the pain he's in.

That is awful.
Unspeakable.

I don't know how parents endure it.

How is he coping?

I don't honestly know how he's coping.... I can't see how he'll recover.....

knowing him.

I'm sure he can't either.

Thanks for the thoughts Deb and Hops.... very sad time.
