Title: For Ami
Post by: Lupita on July 17, 2008, 01:39:06 PM
I dedicate this thread to Ami because Ami is always asking questions about how to love one self.

I never answered you Ami because I did not know either. But now, I am reading a book about that and I want to share with you and the wonderful people in the board.

1- Develop a hobby, something you enjoy doing, I want to learn hoe to dance hip hop and brake dance.

2- Do something that nurtures you in which you were most deprived. I walk on the beach and flirt a lot. I love it.

3- Make a list of your emotional bruises. As you go through this exercise try to picture your self as a loving parent who is consoling a hurt little child. Then say to your self, "It is OK, I will protect you and keep you from harm" You can do it with a picture of your self on your hands.

4- Tell your seld, these things that hurt you have made you a better person. Iamgine that you are in a disaster, who do you want to be with, with a little princess that has never endured any pain or with a person who made it through the dessert? You are a stronger person thanks to everything you have suffered in the past and you cant protect your self. You do not need anybody to protect you.

5-The better you can parent your self now as an adult the less yuo will continues to feel hurt for what you did not get as a child.

More to come.

This will keep you from behaving childishly by turning your boss, coworker, firend, boyfriend, etc, in to your mother or father, or any of the players of your yooth.

When I say you, I do not mean You Ami, I mean you everybody who has this problem like I do, and I would better use the word "one self" instead of you but I do not want to correct that now. I will do it later.

Thank You, Lupita for thinking of me with this topic. I think I am making progress by trying to really face the truth of what was and to feel the deep feelings buried within.
I hope you are making progress, too.
   Blessings ,Ami
