Title: Tidbits-- drive people crazy!
Post by: Izzy_*now* on January 04, 2009, 06:13:53 PM
In 1987, I bought a box of plastic wrap from a little boy (school project) who I ‘sat’ on occasion (in my apt. bldg.)

It cost me $14.00 and held 1000 feet, ‘Vitawrap’ produced by Goodyear. 1987-2008 = 19 years and I am still using it--just used some in 2009, today, for the first time. (If I could remember their names I would send them a card….mother and son.

At this point it has cost me $.38 per mile or $7.22 per year, with more to go.

I think I need another hobby!

Iz,

How refreshing to hear of a great product that has served its purpose so nicely.

Did you by chance read the book or see the movie, Running With Scissors, by Burrough?   My asking has nothing to do with anything, just thought I'd include it in the post!

Happy New Year...

Thanks tt,

No I have not read that, but in a sense, I do feel like I am saying, "Look at me. I am running with scissors"~

I sense this, as at my age this board will close down faster than for younger people and there just might be a sense of underlying panic of "no place to go!" where there is a single soul who would understand me, and I'm not about to start all over.

Love
Izzy

Iz,

I think I know where you're coming from! :)

I just read Running With Scissors.  It is insanely insane on the surface, but in a way it is not much more than an exagerated picture of real life.  As I said, my asking you on this thread didn't have anything to do with anything.  It's that I just finished reading it and I know you read a lot and that there had been a discussion recently of the types of books you and some of the others like.  I found it challenging and entertaining in a way, but wouldn't want to read things like it for a steady diet.

Hugs,

tt

How nice to have something so functional on hand...... never turning around and wishing you had it or paying 10.00 for a little roll of it, perpetually.

Ahhhhhh, that's right.

It all must add up for you!

Not so, for everyone.
