Hi everybody,
Given the recent influx of new members—and given that there is only one person administering and moderating the Board (me!), and given that a person needs to sleep (!), I am closing the door to new members. I don't know how long this will last, but I’ll let you know if/when membership opens again.
Best,
Richard

Gotta take care of the moderator!!!! We support the moderator. Want that moderator NOT to be overworked!!!!

Thanks, GS! Much appreciated!

Yes, please take care of yourself, Dr. G.
ps: A friend of mine may be posting under my username for a while, which might cause some confusion.
I have to admit, I look forward to membership opening up again.
Take your time, Doc.

Thanks, Motherof2!
Please PM me with the "name" of your friend. Have your friend contact me via e-mail, and I will try to arrange a time they can register. (Only one person should post under a given screen name--for security/confidentiality/potential confusion reasons).
Best,
Richard

I never updated the board on my friend.
She became very ill..... I mean on a soul level. This was reflected in her physical and mental health. She passed away 3 years ago in her early forties.
What killed her wasn't the infection. It was generational abuse. She was haunted by it her entire life, IMO.
Her strength and coping strategies protected her as a child, but in adulthood......
it was her undoing, IMO.
The mighty oak doesn't bend in a gale.
It breaks.
I miss her very much....
if only she could have visited this forum, and stayed.

Hi Lighter,
I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. It sounds like a terrible loss for you. I wish we could have helped.

So sorry for your loss Lighter. This post caught my eye because I remember joining the Board in September 2009, I believe I was the last addition, or close to it.
I could not have made it through these last years without this board. Thanks to Dr. G for this place and all who have contributed and responded to me and my posts over the years.

I'm sorry too, Lighter.
It sounds as though she had a very understanding friend in you.
