Title: Books / Reading
Post by: sfalken on August 02, 2010, 12:15:37 PM
I could write volumes here today, about the recent behavior of my parents (NM+ Dad) - however, I have a different thought..

What about books, specifically targeting help for people who as an adult, have been abandoned or rejected by their biological parents? Is anyone aware of something along those lines that is helpful?

This situation goes around and around in my head/heart day after day, and I need to find a better way of coping and finding health over it.

looks interesting. I've been hoping to find something specifically addressing the adult parent/child dynamic where the parents reject the child.

I found these as well:

Book 1: http://www.amazon.com/Children-Self-Absorbed-Grown-ups-Narcissistic-ebook/dp/B002BNKUFO/ref=tmm_kin_title_0?ie=UTF8&m=AG56TWVU5XWC2

Book 2: http://www.amazon.com/Toxic-Parents-Overcoming-Hurtful-Reclaiming/dp/0553381407/ref=pd_sim_b_5

Has anyone read them?

hey sfalken,

I have read them both & consider them "must reads".  I also recommend "The Betrayal Bond", which blew my mind.  Go to amazon (there's a link on the site here) & you will find similar books.

I definitely recommend:

Toxic Parents: Overcoming Their Hurtful Legacy and Reclaiming Your Life by Susan Forward

It is not specifically about Naricissists but it helped me get started in the right direction!   Great place to start.

Love, Biddy
