Awe - that's great.
I saw it on Facebook and put it on my page earlier this week.
Lots of people have "shared" it and commented on it.
Would love to be there when it happened.

PR reminded me just now, on Bones' thread--to celebrate ANYWAY!
So I'm gonna. In my own eccentric but happy ways. I swear, that food court Handel just kickstarted it.
I won't "go big" with it emotionally, but the music is my path in, to the light in winter, hope in darkness, the spiritual side of it. And I do love that. Plus, I will likely get invited to a party or two and I'll gladly go.
Meanwhile, I have my plan in place for a family- (and phamily-) less Xmas Day. It's going to be fine, since I'm spending it with people who don't recognize the English calendar.
Fur people. Saturday I went through orientation (procedures, safety, who's safe, who's maybe not) for being a volunteer dog-walker at our SPCA. It's a wonderful, positive operation and those pooches are so in need of a little relief and leg-stretching. On Christmas Day, I'll most likely be hanging out with some big ole' hound dogs.
I'll go in the morning and again in the afternoon. I really enjoyed it. Plus, this helps the animals and helps myself have another "exercise date" each week--it's a win win. (No possibility of self-pity in that place.)
xo ho ho,

Yay for holiday music, dog walking friends in need, and celebrating in ways we choose for ourselves, Hops.

What a purrfect plan.
Fur people are the best kind.

That's the spirit, Hops!
I'm glad you found your way to make the holiday the way YOU want it - and not about some impossible (and if we really analyze it - absurd) image of what it's "supposed" to be. I think I'm a little envious of your day with fur-friends, though. We've got challenges this year - again - over the holiday too. But I won't clutter up your thread with that!
I'll just imagine we're dancing around in the (maybe) snow in a pretty grove of trees, singing lullabyes to the oaks & pines so they have sweet dreams... and remind them that the days will start getting longer, warmer, and spring will be here soon! Then we'll go have hot chocolate (or Irish Coffee!)... and make up funny new lyrics for the constant Christmas musak playing... and people will STARE at us, jealous that we're having such a good time! Doing absolutely nothing practical or redeeming...
hee-hee!

You're on, tree-girl!
Irish cocoa!
Tonight, if I have the energy after a pretty draining day (re-entry to work after the weekend was roughhhhhhhh) ... I'm going to the Messiah Sing-In at the Univ.
Just 2 hours of fun and pleasure.
