The Voicelessness and Emotional Survival web site was started by Dr. Richard Grossman in 1999.  The essays on this site--on narcissism, adult children of narcissistic parents, relationship issues, depression, parenting, and therapy--have drawn hundreds of thousands of readers, and the Voicelessness and Emotional Survival Message Board has over a 120,000 posts from people sharing (often for the first time) their personal experience with these topics.  With over 1.5 million pageviews, the Message Board has served as a valuable resource for those dealing with narcissistic parents, spouses, partners, boyfriends/ girlfriends, siblings, bosses, and co-workers.

For the past 25 years, Dr. Richard Grossman has maintained a psychotherapy practice focusing on relationship problems, depression, and general life dissatisfaction.  Much of his work has centered on the treatment of adult children of narcissistic parents, spouses or partners of narcissists, and those "voiceless" from early loss or other reasons.  Prior to entering private practice, he taught and supervised in the internship and postdoctoral psychotherapy programs at Massachusetts General Hospital/ Harvard Medical School in Boston where he was on staff.

Featured in New England Psychologist, Dr. Grossman's work has also appeared in Boston Magazine, The Boston Globe, Cosmopolitan (UK), The Brookline Tab, and other magazines, books, and web sites.
