Blame-the-Mother is so ubiquitous, imo, that I think it's hard for people sometimes to see that people can be really unfair, to lay all of a child's issues squarely in the lap of the parent.

This is a powerful culture, and there are many influences bearing down.

That is not an excuse for abusive or negligent parents, but it's so clear to me, that both of you are hardly that.

It's a relief to be allowed to be a person and a parent too.
