Thanks Lupita,

I've struggled over the years with a need for approval too. I've learned that the only person who's approval is worthy, worth me seeking out is God's.

Watching...so far interesting and very helpful for me.

Letting that ego die is not easy. I've come to learn the more you battle it the more fierce your ego becomes, disguising itself in new ploys, new defenses and stronger reactions; the ego, my ego will go to any lengths to hang on, stay alive, to be the ruling force in my life. What I have learned is that if my ego is willing and capable of going to any lengths to beat me, then I have to be willing to go to any lengths to beat my ego; interesting though, the more that my ego beats me the more my heart grows willing to defeat it. It is as if the more I love the less hold my ego has on me.

When we get offended, it is the ego acting. Wayne Dyer talks about a tiger chasing a spiritual student. And the teacher says, did you get offended by the tiger? The student answers, no, why would I get iffended by a tiger? The tiger only does what he is supposed to do.

The same way, when we come across low energy people, we should not get offended since low energy people say low energy things and that is what low energy peopl are supposed to do.

But the question is: how do you define ego?

There are many, many different meanings to that word... and to be completely egoless... well, imho, that's not balanced either. I think I spent most of my life without a healthy, active ego. I think that's one reason I was such a doormat; had no concept of my own boundaries; was totally unimportant as a person - to myself. A healthy ego, on the other hand provides those kinds of tools - without tipping the N scale and thinking you're MORE important, more entitled than others.
Success is never final, failure is never fatal.
