My Bad Behavior
« on: November 14, 2013, 08:01:49 PM »
I have a personal theory now that the reason Ns continue to act so terribly is that NO ONE EVER DARES call them on their behavior. And now I am in a mood where I want to call out the Ns in my life - for example with NM skipping on her granddaughter's BDay for a selfish event... why didn't someone tell her that was wrong?
So my issue is, yes, I can do this. I can call out my NM and the N I work with on their snotty and cruel behaviors. But then I have to deal with them. And that doesn't help me stay centered.
But do you think Ns get away with so much because people won't put them on the spot?

Personally I think the get away with so much because they destroy anyone who stands up to them.  In my own situation my mum was such a master manipulator that she had goodness only knows how many people thinking she was the victim and I was the wicked daughter so people called me on my behaviour, rather than the other way round.

That was true for a long time, Two. Now that my mother is older, she is really showing her colors - so many people think she is just awful. She is moving away so she can start anew since she "hates" everyone where she lives. The only people who matter to her in her life are her brothers and sisters and whatever warped idea she has of her family from when she was little. But I am done being nice to her. Which is good - she hardly ever contacts me since I don't ever say what she wants to hear. She had an N rage at me at my dad's funeral and shocked everyone - they were mortified.
