Happy New Year to Doc G
« on: January 04, 2014, 04:08:07 PM »
Dear Doc G,
I just want to say that I so often click on my favorite daily bookmark, which I named "VESMB" -- without remembering...there is a man behind this, a hardworking therapist, who's suffered his own voicelessness and was inspired with such gratuitous compassion that he went to all the trouble to create this board for people who may be struggling in relative isolation to heal from a bewildering panoply of varied wounds...and who find here, warts and all, some company.

That company has been invaluable to me. I don't like living alone, have an isolated job, and need to express stuff. I also need to feel useful, and on occasion here, I have.

"Company" is a very powerful word to me, in the human sense. One of the very best.

For that I want to thank you, Doc G...and to say that though it is picayune, one of my wee resolutions for 2014 is to NOT overlook that any time I order something from Amazon, I can do it through your link, and thank you in that tiny way for what you've given me on a daily basis during some of the toughest years of my life. I'm bookmarking THAT link right now!

Thank you, Doc G. And Happy New Year.

With love and much gratitude,

Hops

Dear Hops,

Thank you so much!  Your post was very sweet--in fact I forwarded it to both my wife and daughter.  It's important to me that they know that my years of work here have not been for naught.

You have provided "company" to many of us for years, and, as you know, have been much appreciated by posters and non-posters/non-members alike!

Best wishes for the new year!

Love (can I say love here?  ;-) )

Richard

Yeppers, Happy New year 2014

Almost Chinese new year of the WOODEN HORSE!!!

Doesn't this kind of sound like year of the Trojan Horse  LOL

Adventure, Romance and nature in theory. This all sounds good though.

Doc G:

We don't express our gratitude for this forum often enough.

It's nice to read Hop's thoughtful New Year's post, and be reminded.

Thank you,
Lighter

Thanks, Moonlight and Sela!  Happy New Year to both of you, too!  It's always a thrill for me when Board old-timers come back to post about where there lives have gone--or just to say "Hi!"

Hi sea storm,

"You don't know me..."

Ah, but I know you as much as anyone here!  And I'm so glad you found the Board, not just for your sake (I'm so glad it was a life-saver), but for ours as well.  We're so lucky to have you!

Hi Dr. Grossman,

Happy NEw Year.  I don't go in for special holidays much but it is good that you are giving us a safe place again. I tried to pay homage to the site by contributing some money to keep it going. It says go to the paypal button but there is no button there. This could be my mistake but if you haven't received any donations one might look into it.

All the best to you. You are doing a wonderful thing. Huge. Not in terms of money but in terms of being a good human being with compassion.

Thank you,

Sea Storm

Hi sea storm,

I'm so glad the message board has been helpful!  The 15 years I have done this have also been incredibly rewarding to me--I've gotten to know many wonderful people from around the world, both their joy and pain!  For that, I feel very lucky!

I finally got around to looking at the donation page--yup, the PayPal button is missing!  So, I simplified the instructions: Anyone who wants to make a donation to the Board should send me a personal message or an e-mail (ragrossman@voicelessness.com), and I'll write back the address to mail it to.  That method is much better for me:  it's more personal.

As always,

Richard
