Oh cr*p.  I have seen Wayne Dyer in person. There was a flier at a library, he was going to be at a local church and I went. It was a random free event he did. I find that to be a little sad

i don't remember much of what he said, I was into that new-age stuff back then. He did put off a spiritual glow whatever that is.

I have only heard the name Oliver Sacks.

Dr. Sacks wrote some magnificent editorials in the NY Times in recent months, very close to and conscious of death. What grace that man was filled with. All the Comments were just overflowing with love and thanks, and even kind of bon voyage kinds of messages. I was moved to read them.

May they both rest in peace....

Very sad. I posted immediately after hearing the news.

On Monday night, I went to see Marianne Williamson. I live in LA and she speaks every monday night at a local theater. She gave quite a nice eulogy and prayer for Dr. Dyer.  The whole evening was quite moving and I got a little swept up in it. I was very sad to hear he died. I thought he'll never write another book. I read his FaceBook page every morning to see what quote he'd post today and I read it on Sunday, before I knew he'd passed away. His last posts were about whats inside an orange and having a jacket with a pocket cut out as a reminder he cant take anything with him. He must have known he was going to die soon, even though they say his days were normal including his last day.

I met him once in 2004 in Phoenix on his book tour for POWER OF INTENTION. He signed my book. I was the last person in book signing line and most people had left.  He stuck around, one of his daughters was there and she had brought friends to meet him. I think she went to one of the colleges in PHX. I remember him leaving with his daughter in a VW bug...

I will l miss Oliver Sachs so much.  He continued to tell the stories of his patients even though he was going against the popular trends. Such a good man: kind, compassionate, funny, brave and a great story teller for those without a voice.
