One thing I may investigate sometime is house swapping.
That's always sounded to me like a perfect way to have a vacation in lovely places.

Another year, not this one! But I should do something like that before the years slip away.
More conscious of that than I used to be.

Yes, my traveling friend did that as well!  It was a great experience for her, really helps to keep costs down and you have all the home comforts that you don't get in a hotel.  She'd had a slightly dodgy tap in her downstairs loo for years and never got round to fixing it so left her holiday swappers a note just to let them know not to worry about it and the husband fixed it for her while they were there :)  Was so funny, had been broken for about ten years and she'd just never got round to doing it.  Would be a lovely way to see more of the world :) xx
