It's raining gently this morning. I got trash and recycling out early, then pulled up 2 trash bags of English Ivy. I thought about it for a while, then just started pulling....not deciding. Just knowing and doing.
Cleaned up some borders on Saturday. Decided on Hemlock and lavender Azalea branches, with buds, for porch arrangements. So beautiful.
Sunday, I speckled boiled blue eggs where th brown acrylic paint. The feeling they gave me was everything.
DD22 sat with me at the distressed German bar table and was happy to find the glue gun still warm. I'd repaired a 3 story bark birdhouse I'd made....and a tiny one too, before putting up the building materials and readying porch for Easter.
DD22 looked up, noted the porch floral arrangements and said .....
"We're so extra" but it was aimed at me.
That sank in.
We both looked at the costume bunny ears, she was working on, and burst out laughing. Then we looked at the gorgeous eggs, I set up 4 at a time, and laughed till our bellies burned.
We are "extra" and it's ok.
Reminds me of all the times one of us begins singing, bc something was said. The last time, we were on the floor, belting one out, DD22 singing harmony. I changed some of the words to "we are so ADD" which lead to laughter, once DD noticed. We can't help ourselves, and it's ok.
Everything is green and growing right now. Hemlocks have nee, light green tips. The moss is moist and sending up sporophytes like crazy...... Moss was so crunchy.
The established transplant Hydrangeas are popping up, with many new growths, outside their planting areas. I might dig them up, and creat another plant. Maybe in the fall. Just happy to see them doing so well.
I have 9 new green/lavender hydrangeas I picked up for 9.00 each at Home Depot. They're gorgeous, and likely will end up in side yard. I thought I'd plant them at lake, but would be difficult to keep them alive in summer heat if I'm not there all the time. Would have been so beautiful for bridal photo ops.
The retired nurse and I are getting along well. I notice, the residual negative charge is absent, since my chat with Yelly Guy, and neutrality agreement. I'm Sweden. It's better.
Newer elderly neighbor walked her dog by, as I pulled up weeds this am. Poor skittish little pup is named Clover. It was awkward when I didn't ask her name, but I really didn't want to know, and ended the chat politely.
The cowboys are at war again. I know, bc she phoned to ask if she could park her rental car in front of my house, so "N"cowboy wouldn't mess with it, as he'd taken her car (in his name, but he can't drive) out of spite when he moved out "this time." They have a toddler grandson at Easter, and she didn't mention him at all, or plans to celebrate, egg hunt, etc. So odd.
I went back to my happy Easter prep..... residual Halloween decorations are back under house.....dry enough, finally, to trust favorite monsters will be safe. Truthfully, they've been on the porch, jump scaring me, since November, bc crawlspace flooded in hurricane. The dehumidifier isn't draining properly, but has done well enough.....seems as dry as it was, which is a miracle, imo. It had been shin deep.
Much of the tree debris has been removed, not all, for sure. Same with the soggy house goods, and sheetrock/carpet on the streets. All removed from our neighborhood, thanks to retired nurse's son carrying our piles away.
So glad for the rain.
